Oceanographers

Oceanographers are involved in the execution of oceanographic surveys and/or the analysis and interpretation of measured, modelled or remote sensing data. Data analysis is conducted using in-house developed specialist software before being interpreted and presented in client-focused reports that offer a unique opportunity to practice applied oceanography. However, an element of the role comprises deployment and recovery of oceanographic equipment, offering an excellent opportunity to travel. With experience oceanographers can move into project management of large-scale oceanographic contracts, retaining both organisational and financial responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: BSc or above in oceanography or BSc in a related subject supplemented with an MSc in oceanography.
