Fugro GEOS opens Australian Office
The opening of an office in Perth, Western Australia, sees Fugro Global Environmental &
Ocean Sciences (GEOS) further extending its global reach. The world’s largest supplier of
oceanographic and meteorological (metocean) services is now able to provide offshore and
coastal engineering applications, through cost-effective, high quality and technically advanced
measurement, consultancy, information systems and forecasting services throughout the
Australian region.
The new office will be headed by Mark Wimshurst, Commercial Director of Fugro GEOS who
has been with Fugro GEOS for 10 years and the Fugro Group for 25 years.
“The full suite of services will be offered throughout the Australian region from our new Perth
office,” says Jeff Coutts, Managing Director of Fugro GEOS. “Based in the Fugro Survey office,
the GEOS team members, led by Mark Wimshurst, are highly experienced, have invaluable
local knowledge and are well set to provide expertise across the whole range of our services.
Mark will be working closely with our Singapore office which has long been active throughout
Australasia and has established strong relationships in Australia. The expertise and skills of
our staff enables us to bridge the gap between the engineering and scientific disciplines to
appreciate and fulfil the metocean requirements of our clients. Close links with sister Fugro
companies and our ability to draw on the international resources of the Group also further
enhance our services to clients.”
Globally Fugro GEOS has a worldwide team of over 200, more than half of whom are
experienced oceanographers, meteorologists and marine environmental scientists supported by
fully qualified engineering, workshop, administration, development and IT staff. Fugro GEOS
has its own offices in key areas of the world and can also draw on the strengths of its parent
company which has 275 offices in more than 50 countries.
