RigADCP has been developed specifically to alleviate exploration-drilling disruption caused by harsh and complex metocean phenomena such as strong and highly variable ocean currents.
This Rig-mounted ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) is a real-time current profiling system that provides data throughout the water column to alleviate this disruption and enhance the safety and efficiency of offshore operations, such as:
Diver and ROV activities
Station holding
Operational planning
Riser handling
Oil spill monitoring
In addition, the current profile data collected during exploration operations is a valuable data source to monitor riser fatigue and refine future design of risers, moorings and production facilities.
RigADCPs can be adapted to meet clients exact requirements.
Other ADCP systems:
SeisADCP - real-time current profiling in support of seismic operations.
RovADCP- near real-time current profiling throughout the water column using ROVs as the ADCP platform. (US Patent No. 6,820,008 B1)
TowADCP - a tow fish mounted rapid-response system for gathering surface current data over large areas
